Delores Vinson, LPN
Delores Vinson is a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who has been providing compassionate care since 2021. She currently serves as the school nurse at Marion Elementary in the St. Louis area, a role she has held since February 2023. Delores is deeply committed to fostering meaningful relationships with her students and their families, creating a supportive and nurturing environment that promotes both health and academic success.
Her passion for nursing was ignited during her early teens while caring for her grandfather, who was ill with pneumonia. This formative experience inspired her lifelong dedication to helping others, shaping her approach to patient care with empathy, attentiveness, and professionalism. Working in the same district where her own children attend school adds a personal dimension to her role, strengthening her connection to the community she serves.
Delores is currently advancing her education by completing prerequisites at Florissant Valley Community College with the goal of becoming a Registered Nurse and ultimately a Nurse Practitioner. Her commitment to continuous learning and professional growth reflects her dedication to improving the lives of those she serves, both in the school setting and beyond.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
I absolutely love working in the school setting. I've been school nursing since February of 2023, and I love the relationships that I've built with my students and with their parents. What makes it even more special is that I work at the same school my daughter attends - she was in kindergarten last year and is in first grade now. I was also there with my son during his 4th and 5th grade years. Having all of my children in the same district where I work just adds to how much I enjoy what I do. I'm also constantly learning new things, which keeps me motivated as I work toward my goal of becoming a Nurse Practitioner one day.
