Deana’s career reflects determination and steady professional growth. She worked her way up through every level of care—beginning in dietary services before advancing to CNA, Medication Technician, LPN, and ultimately Registered Nurse. She earned her RN through Excelsior College’s Associate Degree in Nursing program and previously completed her LPN certification at Hannah E. Mullins School of Practical Nursing. Her promotion to Director of Nursing came after demonstrating exceptional leadership potential, with the role requiring her advancement from LPN to RN—an achievement she pursued and accomplished with dedication and resilience.
Raised in a medical family, Deana’s passion for patient care began early. Her father, a podiatrist, often brought her to his office and surgeries, where she would comfort patients and hold their hands—experiences that shaped her natural calling to serve others. Outside of healthcare, Deana brings a creative spirit to her life and leadership. She attended film school at age 17 with aspirations of becoming a movie director and later pursued culinary school, where she developed a love for baking. This blend of clinical excellence and creativity informs her dynamic leadership style and her commitment to fostering both healing and innovation within her nursing teams.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
I've always enjoyed taking care of people. Someone asked me why I wasn't doing this for a living, and I realized I was already doing it anyway, so I might as well get paid for it. Growing up, my dad was a podiatrist, so I had a background in healthcare in my family. I used to go into surgeries with him and hold people's hands, which gave me early exposure to patient care and helping others feel comfortable during difficult moments.
