Gunter, TX 75058

Danielle Friday is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and the Founder and CEO of Gunter Family Medicine in Gunter, Texas. She established the practice in November to meet a critical need for accessible healthcare in a community that previously had no local medical services. In her leadership role, she serves as the sole provider while building a patient-centered primary care practice focused on quality, accessibility, and continuity of care.
With nearly 13 years of total nursing experience and almost 4 years as a nurse practitioner, Danielle brings a strong and diverse clinical background to her work. She spent approximately 8 years in a high-acuity Level 1 trauma emergency department in the DFW area, where she managed complex cases involving trauma, stroke, cardiac emergencies, burns, and mental health conditions. This experience working alongside top physicians and specialists shaped her clinical expertise and prepared her to deliver comprehensive, full-spectrum primary care.
At Gunter Family Medicine, Danielle provides a wide range of services including annual wellness exams, pediatric and adult care, acute and sick visits, minor injury treatment, DOT physicals as a certified medical examiner, and select aesthetic services such as Botox. Deeply rooted in her community, she balances her professional responsibilities with family life alongside her husband, with whom she coaches youth sports, and their four children. Her long-term vision is to expand the practice to include four providers within the next five years to support the area’s rapid population growth while maintaining personalized, community-based care.

Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

I really enjoy the bedside and building relationships with patients. Throughout my career, I've had opportunities to go into administration, but I knew that wasn't for me. I stayed the course with clinical care because I truly feel like I found my calling. I really enjoy helping people when things are not working right with the body. I'm not squeamish or squeamish, I don't shy away from blood or anything like that - in fact, I like to help when things are not working right. What drives me is being able to continue helping people in a clinical, bedside way, not in a suit, not behind a desk, and not in the classroom. I want to do the absolute best that I can to give my patients the best healthcare and quality of life possible. That's why I'm doing this.
