Cynthia Nguyen MD
Dr. Nguyen is a dedicated psychotherapist and mental health clinician based in Brooklyn, New York. She owns and operates a private practice providing individualized care through in-person sessions, remote services, and home visits. Dr. Nguyen collaborates closely with hospitals, clinics, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care for her clients, prioritizing privacy and creating safe spaces for open and honest expression.
She works across the lifespan, treating children, teenagers, young adults, and seniors. Her clinical expertise includes obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), mood and eating disorders, autism spectrum disorders, substance use and addictions, and family and marriage therapy. Dr. Nguyen employs individualized and group therapy modalities, guided breathwork, and talk therapy, integrating cultural and religious sensitivity to address each client’s unique needs.
Dr. Nguyen has extensive experience working with diverse populations across multiple states and countries, including nursing home residents. She collaborates with other clinicians, including speech pathologists, to address complex and multifaceted client needs. Her multidisciplinary approach allows her to provide holistic care that emphasizes both mental and emotional well-being.
She is currently completing dual bachelor’s degrees—Criminal Justice and Legal Studies at Berkeley College and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at National University College—with plans to apply to medical school in 2028. Dr. Nguyen is a member of the P Theta Kappa Honor Society and the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS). She has received recognition including Dean’s List honors and a Certificate of Commendation as a New York Top Donor in 2022, reflecting her dedication to excellence and service.
In addition to her professional work, Dr. Nguyen is committed to community service. She has contributed over 150 hours of volunteer work, including two years assisting residents in nursing homes. These experiences have strengthened her ability to provide compassionate, evidence-based mental health care and reflect her ongoing commitment to improving the lives of clients across all stages of life.
