Cynthia Mbui

Cynthia Mbui, RN, BSN, HACP is a highly skilled hospital-based nurse with more than 13 years of experience delivering safe, compassionate, and precise care across acute and perioperative settings. She currently practices at WakeMed in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she is primarily assigned to the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). Known for her calm presence and strong clinical judgment, Cynthia thrives in fast-paced environments and consistently delivers high-quality care to patients and families during critical moments of recovery.

Cynthia’s professional focus centers on perioperative and post-anesthesia care, working closely with anesthesia and surgical teams across multiple specialties. In addition to her PACU role, she regularly supports pre-operative services, floats across perioperative units, and serves as a charge nurse. She is deeply committed to education and mentorship, acting as a preceptor and guide for nursing students and newer nurses, helping them build confidence and competence across different areas of practice.

Her career began in 2012 and includes a broad foundation in medical-surgical, surgical oncology, ENT, rehabilitation, and acute care nursing. This diverse background has shaped her adaptable, patient-centered approach and strong ability to manage complex clinical situations. Cynthia earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Virginia University and holds certifications in HACP and BLS. Passionate about service and teamwork, she continues to contribute to hospital committee work while advancing excellence in perioperative nursing care.
