Conrad D. Braaten, DO

Dr. Conrad D. Braaten, DO, MA is a board-certified osteopathic internal medicine physician who has been practicing medicine since 2013. A graduate of the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia, he earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree in 2013. He initially began residency training in family medicine in Ohio but soon recognized his passion for adult-focused care and transitioned to an internal medicine residency program in Searcy, Arkansas, just north of Little Rock. After transferring applicable credits, he completed his internal medicine residency in 2017. He achieved board certification in Osteopathic Internal Medicine in 2018 and has since built a career centered on comprehensive, relationship-driven patient care.

Currently, Dr. Braaten practices in a value-based care setting focused on senior patients aged 60 and older, an environment he particularly values because it allows him to spend more time with each individual. His clinical philosophy emphasizes prevention, chronic disease management, and thoughtful coordination of care to improve long-term outcomes. Over the years, he has held diverse clinical roles, including working with the Order of St. Francis, a Catholic healthcare organization in Illinois, for two and a half years before relocating to North Carolina prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. He also recently served as a locum tenens physician with hospital privileges at Mission Hospital in the Cashiers area of North Carolina.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Braaten is actively involved in medical education and professional leadership. He is a member of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, where he has served on national faculty for the past four years, contributing to the development of board examination questions for medical students. He is also a member of the American College of Osteopathic Internists. With nearly a decade of post-residency experience, Dr. Braaten continues to combine academic engagement, faith-informed service, and patient-centered internal medicine to support the health and well-being of the communities he serves.
