Philadelphia, PA 19143

Conor O. Smith, M.Ed., LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with a strong dedication to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. He currently operates his own private practice and is also contracted with Thriveworks (University City, Philadelphia), where he provides outpatient counseling to children, adolescents, adults, and families through both in-person and telehealth settings. With over six years of professional experience, Conor specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, men’s mental health, existential and spiritual concerns, and neurodivergent conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD.

Before establishing his private practice, Conor served as an Outpatient Therapist at Bethanna, a non-profit agency in Pennsylvania, where he counseled children and families—many within the foster care system. His clinical work during this period drew from trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), attachment-based family therapy (ABFT), and ecosystemic structural family therapy (ESFT). He also collaborated extensively with social service agencies, schools, and child welfare organizations to ensure a systemic and holistic approach to client care. His earlier roles as a Counselor-Intern at Temple University’s School of Pharmacy and as a Therapeutic Support Staff with the Public Health Management Corporation deepened his understanding of behavioral health challenges in educational and community settings.

Conor earned his Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Counseling Psychology from Temple University, graduating with a 3.98 GPA and receiving the prestigious Margaret Messinger Scholarship Award for academic excellence. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Religious Studies at William & Mary, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was recognized with Departmental Honors for Research in Psychology. His academic and professional journey reflects a lifelong commitment to learning, empathy-driven care, and community involvement.

Beyond his clinical work, Conor is a proud member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), Pennsylvania Counseling Association (PACA), and Greater Philadelphia Counseling Association (GPACA). He attributes his success to his desire to meet people where they are and support them as they work through life’s challenges. Through an integrative, person-centered approach, Conor strives to help clients find meaning, resilience, and growth—empowering them to lead healthier and more fulfilling lives.
