Ciara Lyons-Ragains, MSN, RN, PHN, is a highly experienced nurse and healthcare educator with over 14 years of clinical practice. Her work spans labor and delivery, case management, and community health, where she has witnessed firsthand the disparities BIPOC patients face in receiving equitable care. As a Black nurse, Ciara combines her clinical expertise with lived experience to address systemic bias and improve patient outcomes across the continuum of care.

Driven by a passion for equity and education, Ciara founded The Antiracist Nurse Collective and Her Black Wellness to provide nurses with evidence-based training in implicit bias, pain assessment, culturally informed communication, and advocacy. Her programs bridge gaps in traditional nursing education, empowering healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, inclusive care. Through these initiatives, Ciara translates real-world clinical experience into practical, peer-to-peer guidance that transforms nursing practice and challenges longstanding inequities.

Beyond her professional work, Ciara is deeply committed to mentorship, community impact, and family. She leverages her personal journey including navigating fertility loss, postpartum depression, and career transitions to inspire resilience and purpose in others. Whether training nurses, advocating for Black maternal health, or building her legacy as a mother and entrepreneur, Ciara stands at the forefront of advancing healthcare equity and fostering meaningful change in the communities she serves.
