Christopher Wright, BSN, RN, TCAR, is a critical care registered nurse with experience in both emergency and intensive care settings in New York and beyond. He began his nursing career in 2022 and has since worked at institutions including Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center and BronxCare Health System, where he gained strong clinical experience in high-acuity environments. He is currently working as a travel nurse, bringing his expertise to diverse patient populations while continuing to build advanced skills in critical care.
Christopher earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the CUNY School of Professional Studies, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude, following his Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from CUNY Hostos Community College. His professional development includes specialized certifications such as NIHSS Stroke Scale Certification and TCAR (Trauma Care After Resuscitation), reflecting his commitment to excellence in emergency and trauma care. He is also an ACLS and BLS instructor, contributing to the education and preparedness of fellow healthcare professionals.
Beyond his clinical practice, Christopher is deeply passionate about bridging the gap between physical and mental health in acute care settings. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Chamberlain University, with a goal of integrating psychological and physiological care, particularly in underserved and minority communities. He is also actively involved in mentoring and professional development, having participated in initiatives such as geriatric mental health workshops in New York City. Guided by his philosophy of “nursing to live rather than living to nurse,” Christopher views nursing as both a profession and a platform for personal growth, advocacy, and expanding access to holistic care.

Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

I love people in general, and I love the fact that as a nurse, whether I'm in the ICU or the ER, I get to make people comfortable and cater to their needs. If I'm in the ICU, for that 12 hours of that shift, that patient is my guest. My joy comes from making them comfortable, making them stable either hemodynamically or emotionally, and catering to their family needs. If I'm in the ER, I love the fact that I get to have conversations with people that probably in my everyday interactions I would not be able to have such in-depth conversations with. Going past what's your complaint or why you're here, but once that is addressed and the care plan is in the works, I get to ask what brought you here at this point, what career did you do when you were younger, and at your age in your geriatric years you're very sane - what advice would you give yourself when you were my age. I love the fact that I can have these conversations. I love people and I love hosting, and nursing allows me to combine both of those passions.
