Dr. Chioma Obiukwu, DNP, APN, PMHNP-BC, is a Psychiatric Healthcare Provider with Genoly Caring Center, where she provides comprehensive mental health services as a doctorate-prepared psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with nearly 25 years of nursing experience. She spent approximately 15 years as a registered nurse working in medical-surgical, telemetry, and orthopedic units before discovering her passion for psychiatry. For nearly a decade, she has practiced as a Doctor of Nursing Practice specializing in psychiatric care for patients across the lifespan, utilizing a compassionate, evidence-based, and holistic approach to treatment.

In 2018, Dr. Obiukwu founded Genoly Caring Center, a private practice offering flexible telehealth and in-office psychiatric services tailored to each patient’s unique needs. Her treatment philosophy combines medication management with supportive counseling to provide comprehensive mental health care for conditions such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and other psychiatric illnesses. She has also provided inpatient family psychiatry services through Jefferson Hospital, collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient recovery. Her clinical experience spans both hospital and private practice environments, where she performs comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, develops personalized treatment plans, and promotes preventative mental health education.

Throughout her career, Dr. Obiukwu has demonstrated a strong commitment to education, mentorship, and community impact. She has precepted and trained numerous nurses and nurse practitioners while continuing to advocate for improved access to mental health care. Her practice experienced increased demand during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, as she helped patients manage the psychological impacts of isolation, grief, anxiety, and panic-related disorders. Dr. Obiukwu earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Rutgers University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and she remains deeply committed to providing empathetic, patient-centered mental health care.
