Chelsey Tapia, APRN

Chelsey Tapia, APRN, is a dedicated nurse practitioner and practice owner committed to advancing women’s health and hormone optimization in her community. A nurse since 2015 and a nurse practitioner since 2019, Chelsey spent five years working at New Life Med Spa alongside Dr. Lehman at Health & Hormone Clinic Woodward, where she refined her expertise in hormone management and comprehensive wellness care. In July 2024, she took a bold step forward by establishing her own independent practice, later expanding into a newly purchased building in October and welcoming patients there in November. Her clinic provides primary care, hormone replacement therapy for both men and women, women’s health services, and IV therapy—offering both insurance-based and cash-pay options to ensure flexibility and accessibility for patients.

Chelsey earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northwestern Oklahoma State University before advancing her education through a Nurse Practitioner Master’s program at Purdue University, beginning her graduate studies at Kaplan. Her early nursing career was largely centered in obstetrics, labor and delivery, and postpartum care, experiences that deeply shaped her passion for women’s health and patient advocacy. Today, she is a certified BioTe provider specializing in hormone optimization and also holds certification as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE), reflecting her commitment to trauma-informed, compassionate care. Having previously practiced under physician and OB/GYN leadership, she now values the autonomy of practice ownership—allowing her to tailor insurance participation, pricing, and care models to best serve her patients.

Beyond her clinical accomplishments, Chelsey is deeply family-oriented. She has been married to her husband, Kevin Tapia, for over ten years, and together they are proud parents to Gabriel and Cambrie. She is passionate about building lasting relationships within the community and believes in a model of care centered on partnership, prevention, and proactive wellness. Through entrepreneurial leadership and patient-centered practice, Chelsey Tapia continues to redefine accessible, evidence-based hormone and primary care in her region.

Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

I've always wanted to help in some way medically. I remember in kindergarten asking what we wanted to be, and I said a pediatrician. But then throughout high school, I thought nursing was the better route for me because it seemed like I could put more into patient care and kind of look at the whole picture of everything. I definitely wanted to go into women's health. I think that I wanted a little more autonomy to be able to care for patients once I started working with them, and then just wanted to further my education. The patients are a big motivator - being able to see the difference and follow the patients through their journey.
