Chelisa Crabtree, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Chelisa Crabtree, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and the founder of Crabtree Mental Health Service, working in collaboration with William Tree Counseling. She is a highly experienced mental health clinician with more than 20 years of progressive experience in nursing, psychiatric care, and healthcare leadership. Her clinical expertise spans psychiatric assessment, medication management, and psychotherapy, with a strong emphasis on patient-centered, evidence-based treatment approaches that support long-term mental wellness and stability. Through her practice, she is committed to improving access to comprehensive mental health services for individuals across diverse populations and care settings.

Chelisa’s nursing career reflects a steady and intentional progression rooted in lifelong learning and professional development. She began her healthcare journey as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in 2004, later earning her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential in 2007 and becoming a Registered Nurse (RN) in 2009. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro in 2018, followed by advanced graduate education at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, where she earned her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification (PMHNP-BC) in October 2021 and her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in August 2025. Throughout her career, she has served in a variety of clinical and leadership roles, including Director of Nursing, gaining extensive experience in both psychiatric services and long-term care environments, including her work with Supportive Care of Arkansas.

Her professional focus is deeply influenced by both clinical experience and personal conviction. Early in life, she was motivated to enter healthcare after witnessing a family medical crisis, an experience that shaped her commitment to improving access to timely and effective care. She has since dedicated her career to addressing gaps in mental health services, particularly in underserved and long-term care populations. Her scholarly and professional work includes initiatives focused on providing mental health support for long-term care staff, as well as delivering behavioral intervention training to nursing home teams. An active member of the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the Arkansas ANA, Chelisa continues to advance her mission through her private practice, where she integrates clinical expertise, leadership experience, and compassionate care to support individuals and families on their mental health journey.
