Cecilia Bjornsson, CNA
Cecilia Bjornsson is a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant with a strong background in hospice and in-home senior care. Since entering the healthcare field in 2012, she has dedicated herself to supporting patients and families through some of life’s most vulnerable moments. After earning her CNA certification from Collin College in 2019 and obtaining licensure through the State of Texas, Cecilia has built extensive experience across home health, long-term care, and hospice settings. Her work reflects a deep commitment to helping seniors maintain dignity, comfort, and quality of life, particularly within the familiarity of their own homes.
Currently, Cecilia provides in-home care to seniors in the Plano, Texas area, where she focuses on personalized, patient-centered support. She believes strongly that individuals experience better outcomes when they are able to remain in their own homes, even while facing illness or advanced conditions. Her hospice experience has further shaped her approach, emphasizing empathy, presence, and meaningful connection. Cecilia views each patient interaction as an opportunity to not only provide care, but to honor their life stories and experiences.
Before transitioning into healthcare, Cecilia served in the United States Navy from 1990 to 1993 as an Aviation Machinist Mate during the Gulf War. Following her military service, she spent more than 20 years working in accounting and bookkeeping, developing strong organizational and analytical skills. In 2026, she returned to those roots by taking on a remote role as a self-employed bookkeeper, demonstrating her versatility and continued drive for professional growth alongside her healthcare career.
Cecilia’s path into healthcare was deeply personal, inspired by her brother’s battle with muscular dystrophy. Stepping in to care for him led her to discover a true calling in caregiving—one that brings her a profound sense of purpose and fulfillment. She finds joy in helping her patients have better days and takes pride in making a meaningful difference, no matter how small it may seem. Through her work, Cecilia continues to give back with compassion, humility, and a genuine appreciation for the lives she touches.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
What I enjoy most is that it makes me feel like a million bucks because when my patients have a good day and I'm part of that, it makes me feel like I matter and that I'm giving back just a smidgen of what I've been given in life. I love working with living history - you can read history in the books and learn it in college, but it's different when you're working with living history in that they were there. They can tell you about the sights, sounds, smells, how they felt, and it's just a privilege to be able to be witness to that and help them have a better day. I do what I love, and the bonus is they pay me for it. Everyone wants an aide that will serve with heart, and I love animals, children, and grumpy old people.
