Catherine Hays, D.O.

Dr. Catherine “Katie” Hays, D.O. is a family medicine physician with a broad and compassionate approach to patient care. She completed her undergraduate studies at Baylor University and earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences. She finished her family medicine residency in 2019 at St. Petersburg General Hospital in Florida — and since then has practiced the full scope of family medicine, including chronic disease management, women’s health, endocrine care, physicals, orthopedic injections, wound care, dermatologic biopsies, urgent care, and osteopathic manipulative treatment.

Over the years, Dr. Hays has broadened her focus to include functional medicine and hormone optimization. After receiving preliminary certification from the Institute of Functional Medicine, she provided bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and other functional treatments to patients in diverse settings — from suburban private practices in Seminole, Florida, to island-community clinics in the Florida Keys and the U.S. Virgin Islands. These varied experiences enhanced her ability to tailor care to each patient’s unique needs and life circumstances.

In March of 2025, Dr. Hays joined Sunergy Wellness Clinic in St. Petersburg, FL, as an independent physician partner. At Sunergy, she continues to offer family medicine and holistic functional medicine, providing personalized, patient-centered care from newborns to older adults. Her commitment to treating each patient like family aligns with the clinic’s holistic philosophy — supporting overall health, well-being, and long-term wellness in a warm and welcoming environment.
