Catherine Davis, BSN, RN
Catherine Davis, BSN, RN, is a Registered Nurse with a diverse professional background that spans clinical nursing, entrepreneurship, and healthcare business. She graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and later obtained her Georgia nursing license. While her early career path included administrative work and medical device sales, Davis consistently maintained her nursing license and clinical knowledge, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to healthcare.
Following graduation, Davis explored opportunities beyond traditional bedside nursing. She worked in medical device sales with Smith & Nephew, specializing in Exogen bone stimulators, where she assisted patients with non-union fractures and insurance navigation. Alongside her husband, she co-founded a technology company, Cool Ohm, and later opened a restaurant, Partners Pizza, which they successfully operated until its sale during the COVID-19 pandemic. These entrepreneurial ventures reflect Davis’s resourcefulness, leadership, and ability to adapt across industries.
In March 2025, Davis returned to active clinical practice by joining Northside Hospital’s acute cardiac nurse residency program, a 12- to 16-week program designed to reintegrate nurses into bedside care. In this role, she combines her extensive professional experience with hands-on nursing, focusing on patient care while continuing to build her clinical skills. Davis has also pursued further education to refresh and expand her knowledge, applying to programs at Georgia State University and the University of North Georgia.
Looking ahead, Davis is exploring multiple career pathways, including earning a nurse practitioner degree, pursuing an MBA or MSN, establishing her own practice, or advancing in corporate healthcare leadership. Her career demonstrates a unique blend of clinical expertise, entrepreneurial drive, and a commitment to patient-centered care, making her a versatile and forward-thinking professional in the evolving healthcare landscape.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
Even during my time in medical device sales, I valued patient interactions and the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives. Now that I’ve returned to nursing through the residency program, I’m discovering the many facets of the profession and the potential to grow my career. I enjoy the challenge of building—whether that was creating businesses from the ground up with my husband or now shaping my nursing career. Once I identify a path, I pursue it with focus and determination, and I thrive on taking on new challenges, even in areas where I don’t have prior experience.
