Cassandra Ziesk is a dedicated Registered Nurse with four years of experience in ambulatory and primary care settings. Her nursing career is grounded in a strong academic foundation and a diverse range of clinical experiences that have shaped her into a compassionate and highly capable healthcare professional. She is known for her patient-centered approach, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering high-quality care in fast-paced clinical environments.

Cassandra began her healthcare journey at the College of DuPage, where she completed the first year of the ADN ladder program and earned her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification in 2020. She later relocated to California with her military spouse, where she expanded her academic background by earning an Associate’s degree in Biology from National University. During this time, she also gained valuable hands-on experience as a mental health worker in a clinical setting, further strengthening her understanding of behavioral health and patient support.

After returning to Illinois to be closer to family support, Cassandra joined Northwestern Medicine, where she worked as an LPN. In this role, she refined her clinical skills in patient care, care coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Her time at Northwestern Medicine allowed her to build a strong foundation in ambulatory care while working within a high-performing healthcare system.

In 2023, Cassandra pursued her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Chamberlain University in Addison, completing her degree in December 2025. Her academic advancement, combined with her growing clinical experience, has enabled her to excel in primary care nursing. She is especially recognized for her advocacy efforts, assisting patients with insurance authorizations, pharmacy coordination, and ensuring access to necessary treatments and medications.

Currently, Cassandra works in primary care offices where she continues to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes. She is a member of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and is deeply committed to advancing her nursing career. As both a healthcare professional and a mother to a young son, she strives to balance her dedication to nursing with her role as a parent. Looking ahead, she plans to transition into hospital-based nursing, continuing her mission to provide exceptional, compassionate care and advocate for patients throughout their healthcare journey.

Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

What I enjoy most about nursing is the patient care aspect. I take pride in going above and beyond to ensure my patients get what they need. Whether it’s navigating insurance prior authorizations or coordinating with multiple pharmacies to ensure timely access to medications, I want every patient to feel that someone truly advocated for them. I’ve always been a caring and attentive person—willing to be a listening ear and support patients to the best of my ability. Nurses are, in my view, the superheroes of the healthcare world, and I’m passionate about making sure my patients feel cared for and supported.
