Carson Edmond
Earl Edmund Scott Carson is a seasoned healthcare business development executive with over two decades of experience driving growth and fostering long-term relationships in the medical industry. Currently serving as Vice President of National Business Development at MD Labs, Carson leads national territory expansion initiatives while maintaining direct responsibility for key accounts in California. His work emphasizes relationship-driven strategy, territory growth, and client-focused engagement across the West and East Coasts.
Carson began his professional journey in medical sales shortly after college, where early exposure to both the clinical and business sides of healthcare sparked a lasting passion for the industry. Over time, he progressed into senior leadership roles, consistently delivering strong results through strategic account management, mentorship of new sales representatives, and innovative territory development approaches. His career has included roles at Ethos Laboratories, Sizewise, and independent sales consulting, all of which helped refine his consultative selling expertise and relationship-first philosophy.
In his current role at MD Labs, Carson spearheads national growth strategies in toxicology and pharmacogenomics. He engages with C-suite executives, compliance teams, and research institutions to deliver tailored laboratory solutions aligned with clinical workflows. Carson also oversees contract negotiations, RFP development, and collaborative research projects, reinforcing MD Labs’ national reputation for quality and reliability.
At the core of Carson’s professional philosophy is the belief that authentic relationships drive success. Whether hosting board dinners, attending conferences, or meeting clients in person, he emphasizes understanding clients’ needs, families, and workflows. This approach has allowed him to cultivate long-standing relationships, often spanning a decade or more, and to achieve record-setting sales results in competitive markets.
Carson earned a business degree with a focus on international marketing from American Intercontinental University. While early academic interests included pursuing graduate studies abroad, global events redirected his path toward the medical industry, where he found professional fulfillment and a deep sense of purpose. Outside of his daily work, he is an active member of professional and social organizations, including Women in Pain Management, the California Life Sciences Industry Forum, and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, as well as a private social club in San Francisco.
Looking ahead, Carson is focused on expanding national accounts, exploring emerging medical testing lines, and advancing a personal initiative that brings pain management professionals together through structured roundtable discussions. Despite his executive-level success, his motivation remains rooted in the principles that guided his early career: helping people, doing meaningful work, and building authentic, long-lasting relationships within the healthcare community.
