Carol G. Phipps, RN
Carol Phipps, Intensive Care Registered Nurse at Conway Medical Center, has devoted her life to compassionate, patient-centered care. With over 31 years of nursing experience, Carol has built a reputation for clinical excellence, empathy, and faith-driven service. She works with Conway Medical Center in Conway, South Carolina, where she is known for her dedication to patients and her supportive presence among colleagues. In 2010, her desire to expand her knowledge led her to Grand Strand Medical Center, where she specialized in open-heart recovery, caring for post-operative cardiac patients, an experience that strengthened her passion for critical care.
Guided by her love for people and the mountains where she was raised, Carol later moved to Lake Norman, working in Hickory and floating to the Neuro ICU. She cared for stroke patients, trauma cases, and drowning victims, often helping them transition to Charlotte Medical for continued recovery. After her mother’s passing in 2013, Carol returned home to South Carolina, rejoining Conway Medical Center, where she has remained ever since. She continues to find joy and fulfillment in the relationships she’s built with her colleagues and patients, grateful for every opportunity to serve and for the ways she believes God works through her to help others.
Carol began her studies at Coastal Carolina University in early childhood education before discovering her true calling in nursing, earning her Associate Degree in Nursing in 1994. She holds certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American College of Critical Care Nurses (ACCN). Deeply passionate about caring for others, especially in hospice and intensive care, Carol attributes her success to her faith, her lifelong commitment to learning, and her heartfelt desire to make a difference one patient at a time.
