Burton Dickerson, LCSWC
Burton “Sam” Dickerson III, LCSW-C, LCSW, is a dedicated social worker and therapist with four years of experience specializing in substance abuse treatment and generalized mental health care. Licensed in both Maryland and Delaware, Burton provides virtual counseling services through Headway, helping make mental health support more accessible to clients across the region. He earned his Bachelor of Social Work from Salisbury University in 2019 and went on to complete his Master of Social Work from the same institution in 2022, building a strong academic and professional foundation for his work in behavioral health.
Burton’s therapeutic approach emphasizes compassion, collaboration, and practical strategies that empower individuals to better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and person-centered techniques, he works closely with clients facing challenges such as addiction, anxiety, depression, and life transitions.
