Brooke Hagedoorn, M.S., CCC-SLP
Brooke (Veenstra) Hagedoorn, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a dedicated Speech-Language Specialist based in Wyckoff, New Jersey, with over a decade of experience supporting children and adolescents in developing effective, confident communication skills. She currently serves with Bergen County Special Services and is the founder of Babbling Brooke’s Speech Therapy, LLC, a private practice she established in 2019. Brooke is known for her compassionate, child-centered approach that prioritizes meaningful progress and real-world communication success.
Brooke provides individualized speech-language therapy to children from birth through age 21, addressing a wide range of needs including articulation, expressive and receptive language, fluency, and pragmatic (social) communication skills. Her therapy style is engaging, evidence-based, and non-stigmatizing, helping children build confidence while developing skills that support participation in school, home, and community life. Through her private practice, she partners closely with families to ensure continuity of care and measurable progress beyond therapy sessions.
Her professional career began in public school settings, where she spent nearly nine years serving students in grades K–8, including children with moderate to severe language disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Brooke conducted comprehensive evaluations, developed treatment plans, and delivered therapy both individually and within classroom environments. She collaborated extensively with general and special education teachers, behaviorists, and social workers to integrate communication goals into Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and daily instructional activities.
Brooke earned her Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from William Paterson University of New Jersey and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a concentration in Developmental Psychology, from The College of New Jersey. She completed clinical training in medical and educational settings, including University Hospital in Newark and James Fallon Elementary School. Brooke is fully licensed in New Jersey and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Beyond her clinical work, Brooke remains committed to service and professional growth. She has volunteered as an Activities Assistant at Eastern Christian Children’s Retreat and actively participates in professional organizations to stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology. Brooke’s professional philosophy centers on empowering children and families through therapy that is effective, engaging, and affirming—ensuring every child has the tools and confidence to communicate successfully.
