Bridget Isom, LPN
Bridget Isom, LPN | New Graduate RN May 2026, is a seasoned nursing professional with over 20 years of experience in Illinois and Missouri across long-term care, behavioral health, and home health settings. She is currently completing her Associate’s Degree in Nursing at Southwestern Illinois College, with graduation anticipated in May 2026, and is preparing to transition into hospital-based MedSurg nursing. Known for her attention to detail, compassionate patient care, and collaborative approach, Bridget consistently demonstrates excellence in patient-centered practice.
Bridget began her nursing journey at Kaskaskia College in Centralia, Illinois, where she earned her LPN license. Over the past two decades, she has built a diverse foundation of clinical experience, including long-term care, behavioral health at Gateway Regional Medical Center, and home health with Maxim Healthcare. She currently works through ShiftKey, primarily in long-term care settings, and continues to refine her clinical skills while preparing for her transition into hospital nursing.
As she moves into hospital practice, Bridget is focused on MedSurg nursing to gain broad exposure to patient care across multiple specialties. She plans to explore specialized areas such as telemetry or ICU in the coming years, with an interest in potential travel nursing opportunities. Her clinical expertise is complemented by a dedication to patient advocacy, effective care coordination, and delivering compassionate care tailored to patient acuity and needs.
Bridget’s long-term goal is to become a nursing educator, pursuing her BSN and eventually her MSN to train and mentor the next generation of nurses. She is passionate about restoring compassion to healthcare, integrating empathy into clinical practice, and empowering colleagues and students through education and mentorship. Her participation in initiatives such as the Student Nurses Political Action Day highlights her commitment to advocacy and professional development within nursing.
Inspired by her mother, who is also a nurse, Bridget views her career as both a personal journey and a tribute to her family’s legacy in healthcare. Through decades of hands-on experience, ongoing education, and a focus on leadership, advocacy, and patient-centered care, Bridget Isom embodies the values of a compassionate, skilled, and forward-thinking nurse prepared to make a lasting impact on the profession.
