What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
What I love most about hospice care is being present for patients and their families during life’s final moments. My passion for this work began after losing my dad to lung cancer at age 62, after a decade-long battle. Being there for him—taking him to appointments, supporting him through treatments, and staying with him in his final days—showed me the profound impact compassionate care can have. While it was emotional at first, and I still sometimes get teary-eyed, especially during chaplain visits, I find deep fulfillment in providing comfort and support when it matters most. This work allows me to make a meaningful difference during life’s most challenging transitions.
