Dr. Braden J. Passias, DO is a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon specializing in the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine disorders. A native of Ohio, Dr. Passias is deeply committed to returning home to serve the community where he was raised. He was drawn to OrthoNeuro for its longstanding reputation for clinical excellence, multidisciplinary collaboration, and patient-first philosophy of care. His practice focuses on helping patients restore function, alleviate pain, and improve quality of life through a personalized approach that integrates both advanced surgical and evidence-based non-surgical spine treatments.

Dr. Passias completed his Orthopedic Spine Surgery Fellowship at the University of California, San Diego, where he trained under the mentorship of R. Todd Allen, MD, PhD, gaining advanced expertise in minimally invasive spine surgery, deformity correction, spinal trauma, and complex revision procedures. Prior to fellowship, he completed a rigorous five-year Orthopedic Surgery Residency with the OhioHealth System, an affiliate of the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Ohio University, where he was inducted into both the Sigma Sigma Phi Honor Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society, reflecting his academic excellence and compassionate approach to patient care. He completed his undergraduate studies at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, earning a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, graduating Cum Laude.

Throughout his academic and clinical career, Dr. Passias has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing orthopedic knowledge through research and education. He is the author or co-author of more than 25 peer-reviewed publications in respected journals such as The Bone & Joint Journal, Orthopedics, and Archives of Orthopedic and Trauma Surgery, with research interests spanning spine surgery, trauma fixation techniques, arthroplasty outcomes, and innovative implant technologies. He has presented extensively at national and regional conferences and has received multiple honors for scholarly excellence, including the AOAO Editorial Subcommittee First Place Award and the Orthopedics Blue Ribbon Article Award. In addition to his clinical and research endeavors, Dr. Passias is dedicated to medical education and has served as a presenter for orthopedic grand rounds, medical student curricula, and national surgical training courses. Outside of medicine, he enjoys traveling, fitness, live music, and spending time with family and friends.
