Azem Ahmad Chami, MD, DABA, DABAPM

Dr. Azem A. Chami, MD, DABA, DABAPM, is an accomplished anesthesiologist and interventional pain management specialist, currently serving as the Associate Program Director of the Pain Medicine Fellowship at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. In addition, he is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Ochsner LSU Health, where he provides advanced care for patients with complex pain conditions, including those requiring intrathecal pumps, kyphoplasty, and other interventional procedures.

Dr. Chami’s career includes extensive international training, having completed senior clinical fellowships in anesthesiology and critical care at Hywel Dda University Health Board in Wales and Swansea Bay University Health Board. He also completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship in interventional pain management at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, where he honed his expertise in precision spine care, minimally invasive SI fusion, and advanced pain management techniques.

A board-certified physician by the American Board of Anesthesiology in both anesthesiology and pain medicine, Dr. Chami is dedicated to education and mentorship. His work focuses not only on providing individualized patient care but also on training the next generation of pain medicine specialists, fostering innovation, and advancing evidence-based practices in anesthesiology and interventional pain management.
