Annisa Taylor, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, CNE
Dr. Annisa Taylor, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, CNE, is a distinguished nurse practitioner, healthcare leader, and educator with over a decade of experience in advanced practice nursing. She currently serves as the NP-DNP Program Leader and Chair of Graduate Nursing Programs at Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College at Baton Rouge. Through these roles, Dr. Taylor has demonstrated a commitment to shaping the next generation of nursing professionals while advancing clinical practice standards. In addition to her academic leadership, Dr. Taylor is the CEO and healthcare provider at Unique Healthcare Options LLC, a primary care clinic she founded in 2014 in Baker, Louisiana. Her clinical expertise spans family and psychiatric-mental health care, allowing her to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care across a variety of settings. Prior to founding her clinic, she gained extensive experience as a hospitalist nurse practitioner with Hospital Medicine Group of General Health Systems in Baton Rouge. Dr. Taylor’s educational background is as impressive as her professional career. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Family Nurse Practitioner/Leadership from Walden University and holds multiple advanced nursing certifications, including Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC), Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), and Certified Nurse Educator (CNE). Her academic journey also includes a Post-MSN Family Nurse Practitioner certificate, an MSN in Nursing Education, a BSN, and an RN license, highlighting her lifelong dedication to both clinical excellence and nursing education. Outside of her professional commitments, Dr. Taylor is passionate about mentoring future healthcare providers and advocating for accessible, high-quality care in her community. What I enjoy most about healthcare practice is the ability to make a genuine difference in patients’ lives. I value the meaningful connections formed through listening, educating, and advocating for their well-being. Being able to guide patients through complex health concerns, support them during difficult moments, and celebrate their progress is deeply fulfilling. Healthcare allows me to combine compassion, clinical expertise, and lifelong learning in a way that positively impacts individuals, families, and the community.
