Anette Bickett, BSN, RN-BC, CEN, CPEN, is a Registered Nurse and Clinical Educator with extensive experience in emergency, pediatric, and trauma nursing. She currently serves as a Registered Staff Nurse and Educator at Baptist Hospital Louisville Emergency Room and as an adjunct faculty member at Galen College of Nursing, where she teaches Advanced Medical and Surgical Nursing. Her work integrates hands-on patient care with the development and training of nursing staff, focusing on evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives.

Anette earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville University and completed an Associate Degree in Nursing at Bellarmine College. She also holds a Nursing Assistant Certification from Jefferson State Vocational and Manpower Skill Center. She is board-certified in both adult and pediatric emergency nursing and maintains multiple certifications in trauma care, advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support, basic life support, and CPR instruction.

Throughout her career, Anette has contributed to numerous research projects, quality improvement initiatives, and professional presentations, including studies on alarm fatigue, shift report practices, and evidence-based clinical interventions. She has also co-authored multiple publications in the Critical Care Nurse and other peer-reviewed journals. Her clinical expertise is complemented by her leadership roles in professional organizations, including the Emergency Nurses Association Kentuckiana Chapter, where she has served as President and Director of the Trauma Nurse Core Course.

Beyond her professional work, Anette is deeply committed to community service and medical missions. She has participated in medical, dental, and ophthalmic mission trips to Honduras, Malawi, Haiti, Kenya, and the Dominican Republic. She has also provided free CPR and first aid training to local communities and supported initiatives for women recovering from substance abuse. Through her clinical expertise, teaching, and service, Anette is dedicated to fostering excellence in nursing and promoting health and wellness in her community.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

I consider it both a mission and a ministry to care for people. Being able to make a meaningful difference in the lives of my patients is the most rewarding part of my practice, and it inspires me to provide compassionate, dedicated care every day.
