Dr. Anabel Valdivia del Campo is a General Dentist and Pediatric Dentist currently practicing in Orlando, Florida. She is a graduate of Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree after completing rigorous academic and clinical training. She is also a recent graduate of the Pediatric Dentistry residency program at Nova Southeastern University, completing her specialty training in July 2025.

Dr. Valdivia del Campo’s dental journey began in Cuba, where she completed five years of dental school and graduated with high honors. Although pediatric dentistry was not a formal specialty in her home country, she gained early and meaningful exposure to treating children, as many young patients under her care required comprehensive dental attention. She practiced dentistry in Cuba for one year before relocating to the United States to further advance her professional training and career.

Upon arriving in the United States, she spent nearly three years working as a pediatric dental assistant while preparing for her dental board examinations. This hands-on experience deepened her clinical skills and strengthened her commitment to pediatric dentistry. She later earned her DMD from Boston University and continued her academic and clinical progression, ultimately securing a residency position in pediatric dentistry at Nova Southeastern University.

During her residency, Dr. Valdivia del Campo trained extensively in all aspects of pediatric dental care, including preventive services, restorative treatments, sedation techniques, and hospital-based dentistry. Her clinical expertise includes treating children from infancy through 21 years of age, including patients with special healthcare needs. She is also trained in oral conscious sedation, nitrous oxide administration, and general anesthesia cases for complex treatment needs.

Dr. Valdivia del Campo’s passion for pediatric dentistry is deeply personal, inspired by her own positive orthodontic transformation during childhood. She is dedicated to helping children build confidence through healthy smiles and positive dental experiences. As both a clinician and a mother, she brings empathy, patience, and a child-centered approach to her practice, striving to make every visit comfortable and reassuring for her patients and their families.

Q

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?

What I enjoy most about practicing pediatric dentistry is that it allows me to experience the joy of being around children every day. I care for patients ranging from 1 year old to 21 years old, including children with special healthcare needs, and I find every aspect of this work both meaningful and rewarding. I truly view each case as both a challenge and a privilege. My passion for this specialty was deeply influenced by the pediatric dentist I worked for early in my career as a dental assistant. Her mentorship and the way she practiced dentistry had a lasting impact on me and ultimately inspired me to pursue pediatric dentistry myself.
