Amy Grobstick FNP, CARN, PMHNP
Amy Grobstick, APRN, is a highly experienced nurse practitioner specializing in mental health, neurology, addiction medicine, and functional wellness. With more than 20 years of nursing experience and over a decade as a nurse practitioner since 2010, she has built her career through every level of the nursing profession—from certified nursing assistant to licensed practical nurse, registered nurse, and advanced practice provider. Amy holds degrees at every stage of her professional journey, including ADN, BSN, and MSN, and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Florida Southern College. She is triple-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and CARN-AP (Certified Addiction Registered Nurse–Advanced Practice), a highly specialized credential held by only about 1,200 professionals nationwide.
Amy is the founder of Elevate Functional Wellness, a practice she launched nearly four years ago that blends traditional medicine with innovative functional therapies. The practice offers services in primary care, psychiatry, hormone therapy, and peptide therapy—an emerging field focused on optimizing health and restoring biological function. Her clinical background is deeply rooted in neurology, where she has extensive experience managing conditions such as migraines, movement disorders, and post-stroke recovery. She continues to work in both hospital and post-acute settings across multiple facilities in partnership with a neurologist she has collaborated with for many years, while also maintaining expertise in pain management and addiction medicine.
Passionate about education and patient empowerment, Amy regularly hosts “lunch and learn” sessions on topics such as neuroplasticity at community venues including Laser Loft and other local facilities. Her practice philosophy centers on listening closely to patients and offering treatment options that extend beyond the traditional pathology-focused model of Western medicine. Instead, she emphasizes an optimization approach—identifying root causes, restoring function, and helping patients achieve long-term wellness through personalized, integrative care strategies.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
I finally feel like I'm making a difference again when I can truly listen to patients and address root causes rather than just throwing medications at symptoms. When I started working with hormones and functional medicine, I saw patients who had been told they had depression and anxiety without proper workups, and when we discovered they were completely bankrupt on all hormones, I could finally help them understand why they could sleep 17 hours a day. I wanted to see patients that wanted to get better and give them options, being willing to talk about alternatives when they don't want traditional medications. I think what gives us the edge as nurse practitioners is that listening factor - we sit next to the patient and listen, and I think that's what gives us really good outcomes. My goal is to restore function and listen to the patient, to stop and listen rather than treat them like a cattle car. It feels good to finally come this far and say we're part of the answers here.
