Amanda Wheeler, PCA
Amanda Wheeler has dedicated her career to providing compassionate, hands-on care in home healthcare since 2008. Inspired by her father, a certified nursing assistant, she began her journey as a candy striper volunteer before transitioning into home health care and assisted living. Over nearly two decades, Amanda has built a reputation for empathy, reliability, and a deep commitment to improving the daily lives of her patients.
Beginning as a home health aide and Personal Care Assistant (PCA), Amanda has provided comprehensive support to individuals with disabilities and chronic conditions. Her work extends beyond clinical tasks to include assisting with bathing and personal hygiene, managing errands, transporting patients to medical appointments, and supporting other daily activities. Through these efforts, she has helped patients maintain both their physical well-being and their independence.
Amanda has continually expanded her professional skills through in-house training, earning certifications in CPR, first aid, and specialized equipment such as patient lifts. This training, combined with her hands-on experience, allows her to tailor care to meet the unique needs of each individual. She is drawn to home healthcare for its personal and intimate environment, which enables meaningful one-on-one relationships and fosters trust between caregiver and patient.
Throughout her career, Amanda has demonstrated that technical skill alone is not enough; her success comes from her compassion, resilience, and ability to form authentic connections. Even now, she continues to care for neighbors in her community, embodying a professional ethos defined by trust, humanity, and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of those she serves.

What do you enjoy most about practicing medicine?
What I enjoy most about home health care is how personal and intimate it is. I get close to people, and I like that - being able to just be closer to people. When patients get more comfortable with you, you can do more things for them. That personal connection and the ability to really help people in their own homes is what draws me to this work.
