Alan-Michael (Professor C.) Chest, M.Ed., LMHC, SAC

Alan‑Michael Chest is a dedicated and trauma‑informed Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) whose work is rooted in compassion, creativity, and connection. With a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Mental Health Counseling from Cambridge College and a Bachelor of Arts from Westfield State University, his academic foundation has enabled a deep engagement with therapeutic practices that reflect both empirical rigor and humanistic care. This year, he opened his own practice, Miracles Happen Therapy, to provide personalized, client-centered mental health services.

In his practice, Alan‑Michael brings a unique blend of dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), expressive arts therapy, mindfulness, and narrative work. He emphasizes helping clients develop key skills such as emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and self‑identity empowerment. His approach is built on the conviction that healing happens through a collaborative, respectful, and hopeful therapeutic relationship. He is particularly attuned to trauma, identity, and the power of self‑expression as a path to growth and resilience.

Alan‑Michael serves individuals, couples, and families across a range of concerns — including anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, and life transitions. Through Miracles Happen Therapy, he is committed to creating a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their experiences and develop practical tools for emotional well-being. Whether working in virtual therapy settings or more traditional sessions, he strives to cultivate a respectful environment where clients can reclaim control and move toward a more authentic, connected life.
