Las Vegas, NV -

Adam Mitchell, M.S., is a clinical mental health counselor based in Nevada, currently seeking practicum and internship opportunities to further develop his expertise. Adam brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective, combining his background in cultural anthropology and archaeology with his passion for counseling. Having worked overseas in multiple countries, he has extensive experience engaging with diverse cultures and training individuals, a foundation that informs his culturally sensitive approach to therapy.

Adam’s professional journey includes significant experience in public service and leadership. He served in the United States Navy from 2010 to 2017, followed by roles in social services with Los Angeles County, as an adult rights specialist with the State of Nevada, and as a manager trainee at Enterprise. Additionally, he worked as an archaeological technician, conducting field and lab research. These experiences honed his skills in assessment, problem-solving, communication, and cross-cultural understanding, all of which are central to his current counseling practice.

Currently, Adam provides counseling through Perceptions Counseling and the State of Nevada ICT team, working directly with at‑risk youth in their homes. He emphasizes helping clients understand themselves while maintaining their cultural identity, using techniques from narrative therapy, play therapy, and Gestalt therapy. With a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from California State University, Northridge, and a Master of Science (M.S.) in Counseling/Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix (2026), Adam is committed to lifelong learning and applying evidence-based practices to support his clients’ growth and resilience.
