Adaku Chikezie, DNP(c), BSN, RN (she/her), is a dedicated registered nurse with extensive experience in substance use disorders and psychiatric/behavioral health. Since fully transitioning into psychiatric nursing in 2020, she has been an integral member of assessment, intake, and disposition teams, ensuring that patient care is guided by both clinical precision and deep empathy. Her practice emphasizes meeting patients where they are, while prioritizing safety, dignity, and continuity of care.

In addition to her clinical work, Adaku is deeply committed to research and scholarship. She has contributed to the TAPA program by presenting studies on how healthcare professionals treat transgender patients, highlighting her dedication to addressing disparities and improving outcomes for marginalized populations. Her professional philosophy is grounded in evidence-based care, compassion, and the pursuit of equitable mental health services for all individuals.

Adaku’s passion for healthcare stems from early life experiences caring for family members in Nigeria and witnessing vulnerable communities in the United States. Looking ahead, she aims to achieve board certification and establish an independent practice focused on inclusive, comprehensive care, continuing to champion resilience and mental wellness for her patients.
