Abraham Asto, RN

Abraham B. Asto is a dedicated Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse known for his commitment to advancing behavioral health care through both clinical practice and research. Currently serving with Acadia Healthcare, he provides comprehensive, patient-centered care by assessing and addressing the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of individuals across the lifespan. Abraham’s professional journey reflects a global perspective and a deep commitment to lifelong learning. Originally trained in the Philippines, he earned his Master of Arts in Nursing with a focus on administration and research before becoming licensed to practice in the United States during the COVID-19 pandemic. His experience spans behavioral health, geriatric care, corrections nursing, and academic settings, equipping him with a well-rounded understanding of patient care across different populations. In addition to his clinical roles, he is actively engaged in scholarly work, contributing to research initiatives that explore workplace stress, social support, and mental health—particularly among internationally educated nurses.

Driven by a passion for growth and excellence, Abraham is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing at Saint Louis University, further strengthening his expertise in research and leadership. He is an active member of professional organizations such as the American Nurses Association and the Philippine Nurses Association of America, where he contributes to advancing the nursing profession.
